2 of 5 Proven Ways to Get Rid of Mice

Bait and Poison

Making the decision of using bait and poisoning to get rid of mice who have made your home their home can be a tricky and controversial one. There are many individuals out there who believe positions are cruel since many of them work by dehydrating the mouse; however, it’s truly a personal decision and it’s important to consider the flip side: Mice carry many harmful diseases, so if it comes down to killing a mouse or two, or running the risk of your family getting ill from a mouse, which would you rather choose? If you do decide to run the route of bait and poison, make sure you follow the necessary precautions:

  • Always, always, always use mouse bait in sealed and safe bait stations.
  • Hide bait stations under cabinets and other out-of-reach areas where pets and children will not be able to access; ie: Behind the fridge, on the top of your kitchen cabinets, etc.
  • Poison should only be used inside of your home. Outside of your home may cause pets to get into the poison.
  • Wear rubber gloves while handling the bait and placing it around your home. After you’ve finished placing the bait, throw away the gloves and immediately wash your hands with soap and water.
  • If there is extra bait leftover, store it in a container made for this type of substance and place it in a safe location that cannot be accessed by children or pets.
